Held from February 14 through the 22, the Chicago Auto Show represents one of the most popular American auto shows. Toyota plans to take advantage of expected record attendance by unveiling the 2016 Tacoma. The automaker’s Chicago Auto Show exhibit features a number of all-new specialty vehicles that should keep media cameras clicking throughout the nine-day event. Future vehicle concepts, driving simulators, and one-of-a-kind rides round out the entertainment features found at the Toyota exhibit.
“Toyota’s exhibit at McCormick Place is unique to Chicago as we have ability to combine a mix of various consumer engagement elements under one roof,” said Don Johnson, Auto Show Engagement Manager at Toyota Motor Sales. “Visitors to the Chicago Auto Show will see the past, present, and future of Toyota in a range of interactive exhibits and photogenic displays.”
2016 Tacoma Dominates the Toyota Exhibit
Revealed to automotive industry journalists in early January, the 2016 Tacoma continues with the tradition of including an eye-popping, finely sculpted exterior design, rugged performance, and enhancements in both horsepower and fuel efficency. An all-new powertrain and reliable suspension tuning ensure the pickup truck handles any type of terrain and road condition.
Toyota engineers have designed the 3.5-liter, six-cylinder engine to include direct fuel injection that seamlessly coordinates with the six-speed transmission to maximize power, while not draining energy. As cutting edge technology features, Crawl Control and Mutli-Terrain Select put the 2016 Toyota Tacoma on a quality pedestal by itself. Safety features such as Blind Spot Monitoring prevent drivers from having to guess if when the coast is clear to switch lanes.
Stunning Specialty Vehicles
Toyota announced that along with the launching of the 2016 Tacoma, Chicago Auto Show attendees can expect to see several stunning specialty vehicles at the Toyota exhibit. The much-anticipated FT-1 concept car makes its debut in Chicago. Toyota has labeled the FT-1 as the spiritual pace car for the Toyota Global Design division. The FT-1 features a muscle car like exterior covered with stylish graphite paint. Light saddle-colored leather seats create an upscale appearance that belies the towing capability of the pickup truck. Chicago Auto Show attendees can take the FT-1 for a virtual drive at the Toyota exhibit.
